Blogger Recognition Award

Awards are given for encouragements, accomplishments and recognition. They serve as a nifty way to keep people going forward and acknowledges a persons capabilities in doing something. They can be seen as goals or rewards. But they’re always bound to enlighten an individuals day. We usually tend to be on the other end of the award-giving event and never really realize the joy it procures in giving others a little something that they most likely didn’t expect. Blogging opened us to that world. Unexpected and truly touched by our first awards, we didn’t realize that giving shout outs and receiving them could feel so ecstatic. We’re always grateful and touched by all the awards that are thrown at us and we’ll never miss the chance to express our appreciation for them. The Blogger Recognition Award is not exception.

Bookidote was created not so long ago. It was initially an idea I sprouted out to my girlfriend, telling her that she should definitely embrace the idea of making a book review blog in french. For those of you who don’t know, we’re both studying in french in University. And to top it off, she has an unbelievable talent in writing. Swimming in an ocean of books, to my eyes, she seemed to be in the perfect and ideal position to start sharing her thoughts on the books she’s read and more. Sadly, this idea was waved off and forgotten due to the fact that she already had a fashion blog to tend to. It was only in the middle of summer, when I, myself, have started to rekindle my lost love for books that she suddenly had this brilliant idea of starting a book reviewing blog (I wonder where it came from :D). A blog that would administrated by the both of us. She had the job to design the blog while I had to come up with names. I gave her a bunch of names, such as Bookosis (as if books were a decease or something) or Book Asylum (ended up realizing there was already a popular blog that claimed the asylum as its own). Although the ideas were real good, she wanted something to show books as a cure. That’s when I jokingly came up with Bookidote (book and antidote; if you didn’t see that). In the end, it wasn’t that silly, it was actually pretty good, catchy and perfect.

That’s how Bookidote came to life.

Advice is probably one of the best things one could give other bloggers. One that we would definitely tell you all is to write whenever you feel like it. You started to blog because you loved the idea, loved the feeling, loved the result. In the end, you realize how reinvigorating it is to share with others and to put in words what you feel or think. Just keep on writing and doing what you love. Don’t ever force yourself. It’s that simple. Things you do with love will come naturally.

Thank you Chloé for this award, we truly appreciate it ! Merci beaucoup ! 😉

Here are the rules to the Blogger Recognition Award :

  • Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to . ( You can bend this rule a little bit because I know that 15 is a lot haah . But Do some digging if you must! Find those blogs. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you)
  • Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you’ve nominated in the post.
    • Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image above).
  • Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
  • Provide a link to the original post on Edge of NightThat way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing!

Here are our nominees ! If you’ve already done the award or aren’t the kind of person to post awards up on your blog, feel free to ignore this. However, know that we still love y’all !
