HELLO FRIENDS!
Watch out! It’s Bookidote’s forecast time! 😀 Our bad for the delay on this one (Trang has been quite busy!). In this edition of our Monthly Kick in the Butt, you’ll see what we’re currently reading, what we plan on reading, our monthly quotes + our thoughts and a segment on what’s going on in life!

TRANG’S GOODREADS 2016 READING CHALLENGE PROGRESSION
LASHAAN
Lashaan: With the end of one the most hate-filled years in recent times, I thought maybe a little reminder of the Great King’s words will lead us to a much more beautiful and peaceful 2017. Sometimes the past is just a lesson meant to be learned at our own pace. #believe #humanity
TRANG
“If equal affection cannot be, let the more loving one be me.”
—W. H. Auden, “The More Loving One”
Trang : I think this quote represents everything in my life. From relationships to my perception of the world, of the environment I live in. There will be always the one who loves the other more, there will be someone who loves a passion more than the other, etc. I have such a short life to live and I have made my goal for 2017 to love even more.
LASHAAN’S LIFE
A semester into my master’s degree, I feel like the tough times are yet to come. Although a quarter completed of my degree sounds AWESOME, I know hard work, dedication and perseverance will all be necessary in the months to come. The Holidays served as a great checkpoint to rest and regain energy (I might have really taken that to the letter though hihih), but hey! Laziness and a desire to have fun during the snowy and cold days of December are quite mesmerizing and unavoidable. 😀 I just know that I’ll be sure to kick myself in the ass to get things moving as of now.
I do have to say that reading-wise, I’ve been able to check out some really amazing books lately and plan on continuing the streak through January! So many amazing books just waiting to be picked up from my shelves, one after the other. I mean, with the books I’ve managed to snatch at insanely cheap prices lately too, I feel like I’m in the middle of a goldmine for AMAZING books. Gosh. Seems like I’m on course to making 2017 pretty awesome. For a bookworm. 😀
TRANG’S LIFE
I had the worst semester in my entire life. \stressed out soo much during finals, a lot of procrastinations but .. ITS DONE. And now another semester begins T_T Very happy for that little vacation of 2 weeks, to hibernate and do NOTHING. ❤
Glad you’ve got some realistic goals for reading, especially considering your schooling schedule…

Got to admit that my first Master’s degree semester was a surprise. I had so many books to read for courses within just a month. Time for my own books was… scarce. Definitely learned my lesson. Although, I’m pretty sure I’d try to find ways to read my personal books even if a natural disaster was in progress. 75 is definitely reasonable for someone who’s surrounded by folks who can go a year without cracking a book open. 🙂

You both have so much going on and still maintain this blog beautifully. I am not sure how you possibly manage it all, but big kudos! The quotes are so relevant and inspiring right now, so thank you for sharing them. I needed some good soul “food”.
The only book I have read of these chosen title would be Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, so I hope you enjoy it as well as I did Trang. Looking forward to more reviews and 2017. Happy reading to you both 🙂

Thank you for the kind words! 100% appreciated. I do wonder how I even manage to squeeze in time for Bookidote. In the end, it’s just such an amazing hobby! Bookidote grew into an indispensable extension of my life, just like a lot of other peepz’ blog are for them (looks at you with a smirk; am I right?). Happy reading to you too!! 🙂

You are very right (looks back at you with raised eyebrow). Funny because I can’t actually raise my eyebrows.. oh well, another story for another time.
Definitely becoming one of the best extensions of my life. I love this community and the creative outlet 🙂

I would like to add my compliments on how well you keep up the blog despite your busy lives. When I was in school it was all I could do to keep up with my schoolwork. You guys are doing a great job, and you have really valuable insight on all the best books.

Thank you so much! The blog has become such an emotional release that cutting off time for it would have probably done more harm than good to my school performance at this point. That is definitely one of the oddest conclusions I’ve made lately. 😀 I’m quite glad that you find our input on the books we read interesting. It’s ALWAYS a pleasure to see you drop by to check our content out. 🙂
