October TBR 2017 // Personal Lives

Time to see what October’s bookish weather is going to be like! 😀 In this edition of our Monthly Kick in the Butt, we’ll go over what we’re currently reading, what we plan on reading, our monthly quotes + our thoughts and a segment on what’s going on our lives!

Lashaan: Don’t lie. You do it too. 🙂

Gosh. I have to admit that I’ve been hella busy this month. I’ve barely had time to blog hop as often as I could before, and I do hope no one is taking it personally! 😉 I’m still trying my best to visit y’all whenever I can, but you guys should all know how short on time we all are. If you guys have tips and tricks for visiting other bloggers, let me know. I’d love to have something a bit more organized and less “late to the party” thing going on hahah. September was however very interesting with loads of great stuff done for work and school, with loads of great movies/shows seen and a sudden drop in temperature with the beginning of October. Hopefully fall will be refreshing and filled with new promises and fantastic books. Happy reading, everybody. 😉

September has been crazily busy for me ! With school and midterms coming UGH.  However, work has been the focus right now because I’m graduating next semester so no more school but also super extra efforts to continue with my research. Also super excited for October, that fall vibe, hot chocolate, fallen leaves  and mostly because I’m an October baby 8D For the new month, I intend to start filming myself reviewing books on YouTube but I’m a little bit scared of my French accent hehe 😉 Hope it will still make me entertaining haha! Trang on BookTube ? Yay or NAY ? To be continued … 😀

  1. Oh you both had a busy month – I hope that October will be a bit less hectic for the both of you 🙂 It is so hard to manage blog hopping and everything else blogging while being really busy – I understand the feeling. I’m always trying to dedicate a bit of time to visit my favorite blogs during the week, being organized this way helps me, but sometimes…there is just no time ahah.
TRANG ON YOUTUBE? I want to hear your French accent now – so I can be less ashamed of mine as well? haha 😛 Please do it! 😛
Hope you will both have a lovely month! xx

    1. I knowwwww! And time to read too! All that together just makes blogging/reviewing a 50 hours full-time job! I guess we just have to find out what we got to cut and what we’re going to keep during those busy times and organize ourselves as best we can. I just hope people can understand that without needing to say it out loud! 😛 Hope you had a great month yourself Marie 😀

  2. I hope you both had a good September even though you’re both really busy. It certainly seems like you have, and based on your monthly recap you both had a good reading/blogging month at the very least.
I really love the quotes you chose for this month, and I hope you both have a great October as well. Also Happy Birthday Trang, for whenever your birthday is this month! 😀

    1. Ahh yes! Being able to do the “minimum” blogging routine is definitely something we’ll probably not suddenly stop unless we’re literally unavailable. Hope you have an awesome month of October yourself Beth. Thank you for always taking the time to visit and share your thoughts whenever you feel like it! 😉

  3. Yay! Great to see you’re on track, Lashaan 😀 You’re an inspiration to me hahaha (I’m way behind schedule, just don’t even ask xD)
Love the quotes as well 🙂 (fierce AF! YEAH) Oh and I don’t have any tips for being more organized or blog hopping more, sorry :/ I’m pretty much a mess myself hahaha
Let me know if you come up with some, though! Would love to hear them.
Trang on Youtube sounds dope as hell! And the French accent would be fine, in my opinion. Definitely don’t let that stop you from trying something new, and that you love! ^^
    Great post, guys ❤

    1. I still don’t know how I could be an inspiration, but I’ll take it! 😀 I’m definitely not like ANY other readers out there who have INSANE reading speeds and are able to squeeze in SO MUCH more books per year! But I’m always glad that I can reach my set minimum. As long as you read for your own joy, these challenges shouldn’t be on your mind! Ever! 😉 Hope you’re doing well, Sophie. 😉 Thanks for the visit.

      1. Hahaha trust me, you are 😛 I’m behind on eight books for my challenge… EIGHT! So being on track sounds very inspiring xD
I knoowww!! I’m only able to read more when I listen to audiobooks instead… Otherwise, I find I take soo long!
You’re right, of course. But it’s always nice to win a challenge hahaha 😀
I’m good, thank you! Hope you are too, my friend ^^ And you’re very welcome, I’m always glad to check up on your guys 🙂

  4. Errr….reading It sounds like the scariest thing to do ever. I just read the Shining, which was great but creepy.
Also, Lashaan, totally feel you on catching up on posts n such being hard to do. I just got the chance to do it n that’s cause I’m bored at work.

    1. Hahahaha I swear, if I didn’t dislike the WordPress Reader on smart phones, I’d be doing the same! Although I use my work break to read instead.. Making blog hopping even more difficult hahah It can definitely get pretty long when you want to visit so many people’s content!

      1. Oh yea. It def takes a long time.
I don’t like the phone app either but reading on it is easier for me, not so much commenting though, especially when the person’s blog isn’t on WordPress itself.

  5. Eh… nothing to do about the busyness, I’m afraid and being late to the party. I find myself in the exact same situation. I have considered, you know, quitting my job just so I could bloghop all day, read books and write reviews… but unfortunately, the world considers me an adults and I have to feed myself 😀 hahaha… You guys sounds like you really had a busy month and not to worry, things will fall back into routine again! Good luck with all that you do 🙂

    1. Hahahahah if blogging/reviewing books was paid hourly at a competitive salary, I think we’d all consider giving up our current jobs for this! 😛 You’re right though. It’s life, and we just got to organize ourselves as best we can! 😀

  6. Strange Fire and Blackwing sound really interesting! Looking forward to your reviews on them. Also, it sounds like y’all both have been super busy lately. I just opened my own bookish candle shop, so I can totally understand the being busy thing. I haven’t been able to blog, or blog hop, or write reviews, or anything. But anyways… congrats on school and good luck with mid-terms! Hopefully things will slow down for all of us! Lovely post, by the way! 🙂

      1. Thanks, Lashaan! It’s been a blast! (Although stressful at times…) But still… I’m loving it! And thank you, I hope you’re doing well too! 🙂

  7. Okay first of all *super excited* to see Blackwing on your currently reading!!
And don’t worry Lashaan- we all get behind on blog hopping (case and point my catching up now 😉 )
And that would be so cool if you go on booktube Trang!! 😀

    1. I’ve been pumped to read it every since that wave of reviews by you, Liz and Drew came out! Soooo glad to have had the opportunity to read it this year! And yeh, I seems like blog hopping and being on time on everyone’s posts is damn near impossible unless you put all your time into it! And it’s even more impossible when there are peepz who are able to post daily!! 😛

  8. Oh and Lashaan, I completely understand being busy and trying to work blogging and interacting in, I am a mother of 3! The way I work it is when someone comments me I try to visit there blog and comment back and try to do likes when I can. When I have down time and free time I will go out and reach out to other bloggers as well. Of course things can be hectic so don’t put too much pressure on yourself to answer everything back or have it all together. You have to worry about your main priorities in life first but when I have down time this is how I like to keep track of things! I don’t know if that helps or is something you already do but hope you get some more time to yourself!😁📚❤

    1. Oh, my, Dani. Thank you for sharing this with me. Just the mere thought you put into sharing it with me is worth a billion thank yous! 😉 I can only imagine how busy you could be with three kids! I have co-workers who share their own stressed-filled lives with me with just 1 or 2 kids! Yep, that’s definitely a nice way to look at it. Back when this post was published, I was slowly being VERY behind on everyone’s post cause my method of “blog hopping” was sooo tedious (I’d bookmark blogs and visit them whenever I had time and try to check out every post I missed, but then I’d have sooooo much to go through, I just ended up being burned out or never getting around to being up to date). Recently fixed that and things have been much better! 😀 Thank you so much for sharing this with me though!! I greatly appreciate it. 😛

      1. Bahahaha… I was like well shit… I was so paranoid because it kept freezing up when I was trying to send the comments and my posts kept getting deleted. I even sent an author a chopped up review that had the wrong stuff and looked like I didn’t read the book cause parts were missing. It was maddening!😰
