As promised, I said I would write a whole post explaining what’s going on with my life and with the blog.
First thing, I took some time off to think about rebranding Bookidote. It’s a bold move but as Bookidote continues to grow, I thought it would be more relevant to adapt a more simple look and eventually the idea of redoing everything took over. #Graphic Design Struggle you know. I wanted something simple to really make our post pop while making the text and reading experience enjoyable. The rebranding phase is still going on (it never stop really) which means from here to summer you’ll notice a lot of littles changes because I will be experiencing with different aspects of the blog.
Here’s the traffic and blog posts published throughout our two years with Bookidote, as you can see, we always have some back drop around spring and it will come back strong around April-May and it will back down in Summer during June-July. I’m showing this to let you know my recent discovery: I will post less in Spring and Summer but more during Fall and Winter. That’s a fact. Maybe the stats will change this year, because I’ll be graduated and school won’t affect my schedule anymore. A lot of factors can influence these data. But for now, I think it’s safe to say that you guys are going to see much more of me during April-May than June-July for example.
February-March are the months where people have their midterms, exams at school. June-July are the months where people go on vacation and we tend to be more outside in the summer, hence less time to blog. For me specifically, I’ve been juggling with giving your 200% at work and school non-stop. I also have other blogs on the side where I have to constantly update and in addition of that, a lot of projects. I recently partner up to create an Artificial Intelligence Declaration project in partnership with my university, I’m preparing for a Harvard Internship in summer and I’m going to the gym 6-7 days a week. I love to stay active while working my brain off but that also means less time to blog. UGHH WHY LIFE HAPPENS YOU KNOW.
This part right here is probably what I miss the MOST about blogging. I don’t have time to answer all of your sweet comments or read and share the love for all the posts you guys created but as I’m taking a hiatus from it, I will be back on track around May. Please don’t take it personal. And please, don’t give up on me LOL I’m very sorry and I feel like we built such a strong bond between bloggers that I need to apologize for not spending more time on your blogs.
I just received a bunch of new review copies from the mail so I’m very excited to read them and share my thoughts about it ! My blogging implication has also allowed to be invited to attend Book-Con in New York !! ❤ I was not able to share the news before I get all the official details 😀
So much exciting stuff happening!!! Also, I don’t know how you manage to juggle blogging with such a busy schedule… you’re so on top of things! 🙂

I loved the old design but I think I can grow to like this one too ;-). I’ve never really thought of blog traffic and the report to the seasons… I’ve only noticed that around Christmas I had a busy time, and my totally not very valuable post Happy New Year, had a peak in likes and comments which didn’t make sense to me but I’m not complaining. I look forward to everything that is still to come on your blog!

You lead a much more exciting life than I, but I really hope your academic projects proceed the course and be smooth but amazing! I don’t comment nearly as much as I’d like (oops) but good to hear you’re sticking by this when you can! And the new changes (as far as I can tell at least) are wonderful!

I really love the new look! The only thing I would say is that having a moving image on the left hand side but it quite hard for my eyes to focus on the words which might cause problems for people who are dyslexic 🙂

For a moment I was very shocked when I saw your new design, for a second I thought I’d clicked on the wrong blog but then I read more of your post and realised it was just an update. 🙂
I like the new look, definitely a change from your old design but I guess that’s what you were going for, and it’s great to see you back again Trang. It seems like you have a lot going on as well, both blogging wise and otherwise so exciting times ahead right? 🙂 ❤

Good luck with your rebranding Trang (and Lashaan!) It’s a lot of work… I’ve been looking into self hosting and that means a new theme and redoing graphics so I’m totally relating to your struggles. ♥️
