Top Graphic Novels | Fall Edition

Update : oops I just noticed I turned off the comments section very sorry about that!

I wanted to share with you all my latest favourite graphic novel picks! Not only they are all 5 stars to me but they also got me out of some serious reading slumps 😀

Psss. I tried to make a Fall theme out of this post, hope you like it! ❤

WYTCHES BY SCOTT SNYDER

I wanted something spooky for this Fall and Halloween season and oh my I got it with Wytches. The art is between chaotic gore and suspenseful that makes you want to jump off even though you are reading in broad daylight in the subway with 20 people around you. It’s witchcraft like you’ve never seen before.

JOKER BY BRIAN AZZARELLO

I mean, everyone should read this graphic alone for the amazing art. The details are quite impressive. The storyline is quite out of ordinary compared to all the other Batman-Joker graphic novels out there. If you are looking for some novelty and gorgeous artwork along the way, I would totally recommend this as a Spooky Choice 😉 !

THE LEGEND OF KORRA: TURF WARS

On a more lighthearted note, you can read this new series of The Legen Of Korra featuring a new and very interesting villain, struggling between his spiritual side along with his mortal side. I will always be a big fan of Korra, therefore the graphic novels that come out after the show ended are gifts to me ❤

Y : THE LAST MAN BY BRIAN K VAUGHAN

I loved this graphic novel to the point where I wrote the whole review and rave about it not a long time ago LOL. You can click here to read it.

LEGEND BY MARIE LU

I enjoyed the novel by Marie Lu but I wasn’t interested in reading the sequels of Legend. However, I was curious about the graphic novel that comes out and so I gave it a try. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! Recommended for the YA and Dystopia, Sci-Fi fans 😉

POSTAL BY BRIAN HILL

One of the most underrated graphic novel of his genre, Postal has become one of my favourite series of all times. Featuring a man with asperges’s syndrome roaming around the streets of his hometowns and encountering different “odd accidents”. We follow his perspective of events and realized how different and raw he sees the world.

Big thank you to Penguin Random House, DC Comics and Image Comics for the copies of these fabulous graphic novels !

  1. I really like Wytches too. Loved the art style and overall it’s perfect for Halloween. That Joker comic I need for the cover. Added to my tbr. And I’ve always been curious about Postal. The cover calls to me.

  2. I don’t read any graphic novels and it is a serious gap in my library! I’m totally intrigued by Postal. My brother is autistic spectrum so I’m always intrigued by books with ASD characters – if I like them I always throw them his way.

  3. Great list! 😀 I’m particularly interested in Wytches, as I enjoy horror graphic novels. I have heard quite a few mixed things about it, so I’m glad to see that you enjoyed it. Wytches seems like the perfect graphic novel for the Halloween season!

  4. Joker and Y The Last Man are both excellent! I’ve got some of the American Vampire books by Snyder, which I’m looking forward to starting when I get time, but never looked at Wytches before – looks interesting, I may check that out!

Aside: Have you ever read Gotham Central? I read the entire run over a week a few months back, and absolutely loved it. It went straight to my top five of all time list. Absolutely incredible writing, it’s a police procedural serial, with barely even a mention of the Bat. Definitely worth checking out.

  5. I’ve found myself doing this a lot lately. I got on a real graphic novel kick this month, and I’ve found some very good ones! I’ll be adding these to my list.

  6. Haha… a good thing I went back through the reader tonight as I noticed the fact that I couldn’t leave a comment this morning 😂
So…now I can still leave the comment I had intended to write this morning 😊😊 Really a terrific post! Of course not a real surprise seeing I’m always behind on pretty much everything, but haven’t read any of these. They all sound amazing though: my favorite out of this list would have to be Postal. Really like the premise for that one, and the art looks amazing! Thanks for sharing all of these! 😊

  7. I liked Y: The Last Man, but it didn’t really stick with me I never feel like continuing with the series. Maybe I just waited too long and need to jump back in.

  8. Great list! Y: The Last Man was great. It went places that I didn’t expect. I am really intrigued by Wytches. The horror genre is so much fun. Wytches looks like the spooky fun I have been looking for. I am very new to your blog. Have you read any of Vaughn’s other work. Ex Machina and paper girls are great. Especially paper girls. It is an odd story, time travel, paper girls and the 1980’s but it seems to work really well.
