I can wholeheartedly recommend this stand-alone spin-off at least. The rest is up to everyone to decide if there’s any appeal for them, to be honest hahha
I’m not familiar with any of these works or the creatives behind them, but I do like the sound of the story. It can be nice to take a step back from the huge world (or universe) changing stories and focus on something a bit more personal and close to home. I think those tend to be the more memorable stories for me.
I agree! Self-contained stories are usually so much more impressive in general when done properly. There’s a couple of Black Hammer spin-offs and they haven’t been great so far, except for this one which succeeded in making me happy by being so well-knitted!
If your Freudian free associations didn’t already reveal so much on you through those book chain posts, then this Freudian lapsus tells me exactly what you’d like to hear more about! 😉
Nominated you for the “Real Neat Blog Award”! Keep up the great work!

This sounds and looks very promising! I might finally check something from Black Hammer universe out 😀

Good thing it’s a stand-alone graphic novel too. While the first volumes of Black Hammer are promising, the rest… wavers in terms of quality. 😦

I’ve never heard of the Black Hammer universe. You make it sound well-worth checking out. The cover art for Doctor Star looks gooood.

Can you believe it took me until halfway through the post to realize you had written Dr. STAR and not Dr. Strange? I can’t believe I was so blind…
