Sounds promising, but that was what I thought several years ago too. I guess I’ll wait to see what you think of the final volume before making my decision. It’s not like I’m in a huge rush or have no other books to read 😉
I have to admit that the covers were what drew me to these books originally. Whoever the artist is, bravo to them!
Great review! It sounds like a sequel which can live up to the first book – this isn’t always the case. I’m not too fond of constant name dropping since I have a terrible memory, when it comes to names. I guess the glossary is handy.
Thank you so much! I do love an epic universe with loads of names but the story needs to be exceptionally amazing for me to put even more effort in remembering names or visiting the glossary hahaha 😂
Book 1 ended on my TBR after reading your review for it: knowing the series continues so strongly only makes me want to shift it higher up on the reading queue… 😉
So good but a little bit confusing given all the names right? Anyway this series seems indeed to be right up your alley Lashaan and I can see why! Add to it some romance and it could be my jam too 😉
Good stuff, Lashaan. This sounds like a series I’d enjoy. I like the book titles, and as with Bookstooge the covers are what first drew me in. They’re so simple in their design, but they really convey some storytelling with the artwork. I very much hope to get to this series.
Thanks, Todd! Tell me about it. The covers alone would’ve made me pick up this trilogy if I didn’t know about it before hahah Hope you get the chance to try it out someday, sir! 😁
Unlike the others, I am not the biggest fan of this cover. It reminds me too much of my history books back in the day.
I can totally see how the negative things you pointed out would be also problematic for me and how the positives are GREAT. Glad you enjoyed it.

I think it’ll turn out to be a solid trilogy for you, but I can definitely see you notice a couple of issues in style (writing) and pacing.
I’m loving the cover art for this trilogy as well. Simple and hella effective!
