Books Based on My Spotify Top 3

Okay guys, when I decided to make this post, it was way harder to do than I ever imagined. Because one, my songs are very specific and complex and two, the books I would choose would include maybe ONE scene that represents the song and not at all the entire book.. you know what I mean?

 Ta Reine – Angele

I’ve been probably spamming my Spotify playlist with this song and I don’t regret it one bit. It’s such a beautiful song, and for people who don’t speak French, she’s talking about a love between two girls.

And honestly the only novel that comes to mind is Tipping The Velvet by Sarah Waters, story of a woman trying to find herself and a place to belong. Revisiting themes of identity, cross-dressing, gender roles, and sexuality.

I’ve been rewatching The Prince of Egypt recently and I’m obssessed with its soundtrack, including the iconic song of When You Believe. This song is relevant in all the senses, including everything with Black Lives Matter, protests around the world and the climate change initiative.

I chose The Hate U Give for this song but honestly so are many many books out there. The Hate U Give is one of the books that gave a sense of hope during the events of the novel.

9361589Joke’s On You – Charlotte Lawrence

I know this song comes from the Harley Quinn soundtrack but everytime I listen to it, it makes me think of The Night Circus. I love the playfulness and the back and forth between the two protagonists and the constant one-upmanship.

Definitely recommends this book because it has the best romance I’ve ever seen,

What are some of your favourite songs that you associate with the books you read? 😀 Let me know in the comments!
