Man…..you really are killing me here. Each and every one of these graphic novels seem to be better than the other one from previous posts😂😂
It will probably not be a really big surprise to you that this one especially sounds really interesting to me, seeing how I really enjoy the darker side of things! The Death of Superman was a really great comic, so I’m very interested in seeing an alternate take on it! Terrific review, even though my wallet totally disagrees with me!😂😂
I had a feeling you’d dig the concept behind this little beauty too hahahah It’s a pretty fun collection with gruesome and varied heroes in the Dark Multiverse. Perfect for this Halloween season too. 😉 I’m glad to contribute to the destruction of your wallet too, Michel! 😀
While I really have no interest in the dark universe as a whole, this idea sounds fantastic. I’d almost be willing to read the whole thing just to see an alternate Death of Superman. Unfortunately, in hardcover, I’m sure this is pretty pricey and I’m not willing to spend a lot of money to satisfy that curiosity 🙂
I honestly had a feeling you’d dig this pseudo-Elseworlds collection but would be put off by the darker take too hahaha
You could always try to hunt down the one-shot issue of that very story if you’re intrigued enough. 😀 I’m sure your local comic book shop would love a visit from the great Bookstooge too! 😛
I don’t know any of my “local” comic shops to be honest. And digital comics leave me very meh. If I’m ever interested enough, I’ll check out out this hardcover.
alternate vision of important events and revisit the original ending sounds interesting but I agree it can be spoiler for those who doesn’t know the original stories. Wonderful review!
Have they published stories set in other universes in the multiverse? Is this Dark one just one of many they are exploring? It is an interesting idea, as you said especially for those already familiar with the “real” stories.
Absolutely. They aren’t always a hit but in the DC Universe, they introduced the multiverse a while back with over 52 Earths. It was only recently that they introduced the Dark Multiverse through the Metal cosmic event. It’s a fun twist that’s very Batman-centric to begin with but has had plenty of colourful, gruesome, and wild ideas to explore! 😀
Hm…given I’m beyond played-out with the Dark Multiverse I can see little appeal in this collection for me but I am intrigued by the Knightfall, Death of Superman and Infinite Crisis stories so will probably get the digital versions of just those one-shots – great write-up sir, I look forward to your eventual review of the new Metal series (which I’ll probably never read haha)!
I can’t blame you there. I’m not THAT excited for Death Metal but I’m too curious about Snyder’s stuff to ignore it too hahaha I’ll definitely be sharing my thoughts on it once it gets collected (not falling for that single issue collecting trap for his stuff with the gazillion spin-offs/tie-ins that always comes with his events hahaha
That seemed a very dark one with that parallel universe drowned in sorrow as you said! I’d rather stay in our own unverse

Same, Sophie. 😉 There’s enough darkness in our universe too. 🙂

Exactly! As long as you know what to expect going into this one, it’s wonderful. 😀 Thanks for reading, Yesha!

I’m sorry, but I don’t think Gotham is a “she.”

What is Gotham for you then? 😉 For this Batman, it became a “she”, a very nightmarish “she” with deadly seductive skills. 😉

It definitely is only an “it.”
But I do like the way you put it.
