You have some pretty big books there in your Priority list. And several of those are from ongoing, ie, never to be finished, series. Is that risk something you’re ok with?
I’ve got zero opinions about your watching stuff. I get all the movie stuff I need from Ol’10. Just reading about the movies/shows is usually more than enough for me. So have at it, go wild, watch all the stuff! Except for where it interferes with reading 😉
Hahahahaha I think you made a similar comment last year too. Yes, sir. I don’t mind being tortured by authors who just don’t want to finish their series. 😉 Oh man, with the amount of content Ol’10 dishes out, you’re sure to never have uninteresting movies to check out too. 😀
Thankfully, since I watch so few movies, I can plan them out months in advance. So I’m hoping this year to effortlessly shrug off his barrage of movie bullets.
And I suspect I did say the same thing last year. One of the disadvantages of getting older. You forget stuff and repeat stuff.
That is the thing I’m not fond of about getting older, forgetting I’ve already said stuff…
Hahahah I’ll make it my goal to get you in awe at the accomplishment by the end of the year then! 😀 Hope you get around to reading and watching everyone that interests you too, Milou! 😀
Eeek! No! I have not seen, nor do I intend to see the 2011 remake of ‘The Thing’. John Carpenter’s 1982 movie is not the original, the 1951 version is the original, and yes, it is worth checking out.
I’ve been very slowly working up and reordering a list to try for this year. And many of the books/series/authors on yours have been on mine for quite some time, so you’re not the only one who hasn’t tried them yet (Martin, Jordan, Robb, Lynch, Stephenson). I just hope we thoroughly enjoy the majority of what we end up choosing!
I’m glad to hear that we might actually both discover new titles/authors together this year! I do hope they work out for you though. I have high hopes that I’ll enjoy them for what they’ll offer and I’m excited to finally discover why they got so much attention since their release! 😀
Can’t wait for your “The Name of the Wind” review. It’s a book that was recommended to me this year (supposedly it’s a part of a trilogy or a longer series). I had high hopes for it. It was disappointing to me. Maybe if I read part 2 it would spark more interest, but I decided not to waste my time.
Yeh, Rothfuss is known, like G.R.R. Martin, for not finishing up his series in a reasonable time for bookworms around the world hahahah I’m sorry to hear about your disappointment for it though. While, at first, everyone seemed to love it, I have started to discover a couple of people who hated it hahah I can’t wait to check it out this year, for sure!
I totally understand! Our physical TBR seems to always suffer at our hands (and that of new releases) every year! Hope you get around to reading as many of your physical TBR as possible! 😀
I am such a mood reader that I don’t think I could come close to sticking to a TBR like this. Also, a lot of my reading is dictated by what is available at the library or what ARCs I get approved for on NetGalley. I do like the idea of picking out some more “classic” titles. Good luck with your TBR/TBW!
Hahahah I totally understand! I think we had this discussion on a post of mine about how we decide what to read next too! 😛 It’s because of ARCs and new releases that I often end up putting aside those books that I own and haven’t read! It’s why I try to stick with this reading/watching resolution so that I don’t ignore them hahaha Thanks, Stephanie! I hope you get around to reading/watching some great ones today! 😀
I saw the movie Up today and thought it was really nice. I haven’t seen any other movie on your list, but I’ve been meaning to see The Thing since forever!
Since you say they’re all good movies, I’ll check them out—starting with The Thing and that other movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
I had only heard amazing things about Up before having seen it last year and it is indeed as good as everyone claimed it was! Ratatouille seems to be the one that many consider the best of the best though and I need to properly watch it now with my adult brain hahaha
The Thing is a very suspenseful movie and, once you see it, you’ll see how a lot of horror movies today take inspiration from it. 😮
Leo has barely ever done anything horrible. His acting alone makes anything great for me hahaha I’m glad to hear your interest in those movies though! I think you’re very likely to enjoy these if your tastes are similar to mine!
Thank you so much for visiting and Happy New Year to you too! 😀
Was Ratatouille on your list? How in God’s name did I miss it? I saw Ratatouille when I was a kid, so while I’ve watched it, I only remember a few scenes. I’d love to rewatch again sometime soon. I may not completely remember the movie, but I remember the feeling of satisfaction it left me those many years ago.
I’m a die-hard fan of Leo, especially after seeing him play in Shutter Island and Inception. He’s such a wonderful actor!
Eyy, you needn’t thank me for visiting. It was a real pleasure reading your blog post. 🤗
A lot of good stuff on your reading list. A Game of Thrones takes some getting into, but worth it once you begin to figure out what’s going on. The Lightning Thief was pretty easy and fun. And The Two Towers is my favorite of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I think. It’s the middle book in the series, but there are a handful of great lines in it.
Marnie is an interesting movie – it has Tippy Hedren as the villain/victim and Sean Connery as the person who unravels the case. He also marries her. Very strange. I wouldn’t ever have watched it if my husband didn’t collect Alfred Hitchcock movies.
Many of them are classics in my books too! I definitely hear you for GoT. Having seen the TV series, it’s a lot easier to follow what’s going on so far, especially when the first season followed the first book so closely! 😮 I’m glad to hear that The Two Towers is your favourite of the trilogy though! That has me beyond excited! 😀 I have seen a good amount of Hitchcock movies in the past two years and my girlfriend is a huge fan of them. She’s the one who told me to go with Marnie as my MUST-WATCH Hitchcock movie this year and I can only imagine it is excellent! Thanks for sharing with me! 😀
Hahahah thanks, Lois! I appreciate it! While it was harder to achieve my reading goals, I couldn’t fail the watchlist though! Too many of those were movies I have been dying to see for too long hahaha And yes for Your Name! I have been recommended the director’s movies by a bunch of peepz and I hope I can get through more than just Your Name too! Stay awesome and safe, Lois! 😀
Hahahahahahaha I was going to add The Shadow of the Wind in there too. 😉 Maybe I’ll surprise you with a review of that and rot your eyes at the mere thought of someone having read it too. 😛
Thanks, Tammy! I hope the same for you too! Here’s hoping that 2021 will get you through that masssssiiive collection of books you got there stashed at home! 😛
Thanks, Nicki! Hahahah yes! Last year it was Citizen Kane for me and now I thought it would only be right that Casablanca was finally off my watchlist too! 😛
Thanks, Yesha! I can’t wait to finally get to those. Is there a reason why you’re not planning anything? Are you trying to give yourself the freedom to just read whatever you want, whenever you want? 🙂
Whatever I planned to read in 2020, I couldn’t read it. Planning obviously didn’t work. I have books I want to read so I will read them whenever I get time. There are few tours I signed up till March. After that I will see but no strict plan or goal for the year.
Good luck with these Lashaan! I have noticed this past year that I’ve become more and more a mood reader. The stress of day to day life being real for months, I’ve decided to keep my goals very light this year!
I can totally understand. I’d have gone in that direction too if I didn’t want to reaaaaaally get these particular books read by the end of the year hahah 😀
Well you know I’m looking forward to seeing what you think of Robin Hobb’s Assassin Apprentice. It starts out slow, but such a great series to commit to. And, oh man!, curious to see what you think of Game of Thrones and Eye of the World. For some reason, I think you might not dig Lightning Thief too much. It’s a fun read and I love it, so I’d recommend it. Very quick read, if you wanna kick off the year with it.
Hope you end up having a great time with all these though 🙂
So far, GoT has been excellent to me. Looking forward to writing up a review for it once I’m done! Both EotW and AA will be really interesting though. Such highly praised series/universes. So much to look forward to! 😛
I don’t think that I read a single current release this past year and I’ll admit it felt pretty good. 🙂
I’ve come to realize that I have to just give in to my mood reader ways.
I’m not as organized or intentional as you regarding my entertainment goals. I remain open because sometimes a review or word from someone will pique my curiosity and there I go after that book or film. For example, the miniseries in Netflix, Queen’s Gambit, kept popping up, so I finally succumbed and watched it. I recommend it. Stephen King even said it was his favorite series, and yes, that did influence me eventually when I couldn’t fine anything worthwhile. But, then I’m in the middle of watching Alice in Borderland (series in Netflix) and I think you might like it.
I do the same as you but I’ve come to establish these entertainment goals so that I don’t forget the things I have ALWAYS wanted to get around to but haven’t yet. I saw Queen’s Gambit and enjoyed it a lot too! Especially as a chess player myself hahah I saw Alice in Borderland and it looked like a lot of fun! glad to hear it’s working for you so far! 😮
I re-read the LotR trilogy last year and The Two Towers was my favorite. I love Samwise’s character so much, and he really shines in the second book. Originally the trilogy was a buddy read with my son, but he couldn’t make it through the Tom Bombadil chapters. 😅
I love The Iron Giant. I have the articulated action figure. 😁
Nimona, and Name the Wind have been on my TBR forever and I never get to them. I want to read more GRs this year so I should read Nimona because it’s already on my Kindle. 😊
I have to get to your Harry Potter review. ⚡
Good luck with all of your reading and watching goals! You have some great titles on your lists. 👏👏👏
Hahaha I actually remember that you were buddy-reading with him but he gave up! I can’t wait to dive back into that trilogy. 😀
I remember The Iron Giant throughout my childhood but never gave it a proper critical viewing, which I can’t wait to do this year! 😀
Nimona was fun and hopefully, I’ll get around to the Name of the Wind this year. 😀 I can only highly recommend venturing into the realm of graphic novels. They changed my life for the better! 😉
Thank you so much for your kind words. I hope the same for you. Thank you for also dropping by my posts! It’s always a pleasure to hear from you! 😀
Glad you got to watch Reqium for a Dream. I played the Fridge in that movie. Although, they didn’t want to pay me. 🤠
I’m half way through Gridlinked, so I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts on that. Thanks again, Lashaan.

Glad to hear about Gridlinked though! I can’t wait to finally dive into that universe this year too. 😀

I dug ‘Raging Bull’ at the time and Kurt Russells re-make of ‘the Thing’ is fantastic even after all these years.
I’m a big Neal Stephenson fan and ‘Anathem’ is probably the best.
I love ‘Seven Samurai’. Toshiro is just a baby!
I always approve of Kirk Douglas.
Luv ‘Casablanca’.
I am not familiar with ‘Marnie’. I will have to correct that.
Happy Trails!

Raging Bull was such a fascinating movie, exploring De Niro’s character’s personality in such a staggering fashion.
Are you saying that the 2011 movie is actually worth checking out? It’s as good as John Carpenter’s original movie? 😮
Oh man, I’m so happy to hear that you also read and loved Anathem! I’m dying to read it now!
That’s what I’m talking about! A man with good taste! You’ve seen and loved both Seven Samurai and Casablanca!
Another Hitchcock movie for the both of us to discover then! Hope you enjoy it when you get around to it, Icky! 😀 Stay safe!
