My Monthly Anticipation | September 2021

Hello ladies & gentlemen,

Who doesn’t love the anticipation of new releases and things that they plan on doing? Every month there seems to be something new and exciting ready to hit the market for our consumption.

Being ready to embrace them with open arms is all we can really do.

  1. I can imagine, how you must be looking forward to finishing your PhD. Hope the exams go well!! SciFi or not, I didn’t enjoy “All the Light We Cannot See” and doubt I’ll try more books from that author. 😉

  2. I’m curious to see what you think of The Pariah. I loved that book, the only one I’ve read by Ryan. I hate to say it but Dark Ages sounds like more of the same. The biggest, baddest foe in the history of all histories… everyone comes together to fight for the future of all futures.. blah, blah, blah. I hope it’s better than I’m expecting cuz I don’t think it could be any worse. 🙂 And regarding life, you’ve got the first half, no problems at all! The second half will be here in no time and we’ll be looking back and wondering what all the worry was about. Here’s to a good one, Lashaan!

    1. As far as I know, you’re the first and only person I know who got through it so I’m definitely glad that it was a success for you. I look forward to cracking it open and discovering what it has in store for me.

Hahahahaha that clearly sounds like a fan who got tired of Marvel’s shenanigans! And you’re right. Events like those always end up sounding the same. I usually just tell myself that they don’t have a choice to do so with so many years of story-telling and reboots. Hopefully, it turns out great to the eyes of newcomers.

Thanks for the kind words, my friend! I really look forward to what the second half of September is going to be like. I’m also quite excited about the Winter holidays even if there are a couple more months to go. 😀 Stay safe and awesome, Todd! Hope September will prove to be an exciting month for you too.

    1. You bet I will! 😛 For now, I just need to survive that first half and come out victorious. 😀 I haven’t yet gotten through those episodes. They were coming out every other week and I wanted to wait for them to all come out before I check them out. At least all four episodes are pretty short. If I go based on what I’ve heard from others, they aren’t necessarily mind-blowing but they remain entertaining! 😀

  3. I need to start reading Jay Kristoff books and also need to continue Robert Langdon series. I haven’t planned anything for the month but I hope I could read at least 8 books and watch Shadow and Bone season now that I finished Six of Crows duology. Happy reading!

  4. Good luck with your PhD exams! I just saw Shang-Chi the other night and the martial arts choreography was AMAZING. Hope you enjoy! I still don’t REALLY believe Y: The Last Man is coming out, that project has been in development for so long. Fingers crossed it’s good though! I’m probably going to try to read Empire of the Vampire next month, but man I have no idea what I’m getting into lol.

    1. Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. 😀 I’m absolutely glad to hear that about Shang-Chi. I should be able to check it out this week and I look forward to those martial arts sequences so much. I’m with you there. I still remember hearing about it almost 5 years ago. Seeing that trailer recently was such an awesome surprise! I just hope it lures in more viewers and doesn’t disappoint anyone! 😀 Happy reading! 😛

  5. I am SO EXCITED for Shang-Chi, I just wish I could watch it on Disney+ as I am not overly comfortable going back to cinemas yet. I’ve heard nothing but good things from friends who saw it this weekend! Good luck on your exams and hope you get a little rest,

    1. It would have indeed been nice to get Shang-Chi digitally but I think there’s a 40-day embargo on it before that happens. It’ll at least allow the movie to get as much money for its box office record before it falls off the radar once it’s on Disney+ hahaha I’ll probably end up watching it tomorrow myself! I can’t let myself be a victim of potential spoilers any longer. 😛 Thank you so much for your kind words, Kal! Stay safe and happy reading!

    1. Thanks, I appreciate it. I really look forward to the end of that exam so that I can move onto a life exempt from that intangible weight that I’ve been lugging around these past months! And yes, I think you’d have a kick out of Y: The Last Man. The comic had some interesting angles to explore. I just hope they don’t go too far into some too-common political agendas today throughout the show!
