I’m very, very curious to hear about your journey with Dante! It’s been a long time for me (school days are far, far into the past…) but I look forward to your consideration on this work!

I can already tell you that it’s rough but there are many reasons for it. Still very much intrigued by what I’m discovering. It’s now officially on my life bucket list to learn enough Italian to try it in its original language. 😛

Good luck on Dante. I’m interested in picking it up, but its certainly an intimidating read. Interested in reading your thoughts on it!

Thanks! You’re right to consider it intimating. 😉 I look forward to finishing it up and sharing my thoughts! 😀

That Mads Mikkelsen looks interesting and unusual in that the village is taking the side of the child rather than the adult for a change. Was it a tough watch? We saw the new Bond and The Eternals. Enjoyed the Bond but was disappointed with The Eternals. What was with all those dramatic pauses? Maybe that’s where they got the name for the film from!! 😂

Apparently, it was based on a true story. I like how it explored that facet of that kind of story that you more often hear about today. And I tell you: it was a super frustrating viewing experience! You’ll continually want to punch your TV! Definitely something that you should try out someday, Nicki. As for Eternals… Yeh, no. They took themselves too seriously and got lost along the way. It was a weak MCU movie for me too hahahah Bond was pretty fun too! A bit on the messier end as they tried to tie together all the previous movies together but it was a great swan song for Daniel Craig!

Jagten looks like a powerful movie, just added it to my queue. Is it your favorite of Mikkelsen’s movies you seen? I love hearing how well January went even with all the extra challenges. Here’s hoping you slowly find that rhythem that works for you both. And you appear to be tackling some real classics on the book front. 🙂

Besides what his more Hollywoodian Disney movies offered (Doctor Strange and Star Wars Rogue One), as a lead role in more “traditional” cinematic features, I enjoyed both Danish movies Another Round (Druk) and this The Hunt (Jagten). Funnily, they were both done under the same director. 😛
Thanks, Todd! And yes; I’m trying my best to steer clear as much as possible from newer releases just to focus more on all those books that I’ve been dying to read for years and have been around for years hahah

I hate disruption in routine as it somehow takes longer to get into new routine. It’s great now you’re settled in new house. Have a fabulous Feb, Lashaan!

That’s so true. I’m doing everything in my power to establish that routine sooner rather than later. Thanks, Yesha! I hope you have a wonderful month of February as well! 😀

And you might add that blogging is a hobby and should not give you added oressire Lashaan! Congrats on the move by the way!

The Hunt is great, I’ve also seen it quite recently, powerful movie, taking an unusual approach to a very important topic. I plan to see Another Round some time soon..

So glad to hear from someone who saw it too! Tell me it wasn’t a super frustrating viewing experience. They really made sure you were almost in Mads Mikkelsen’s shoes throughout the whole movie. I also liked the unusual approach. The ending was quite poignant too! I saw Another Round before The Hunt and it’s just as good. A cinematic social experience. It was fascinating to watch it unfold before us. Hope you enjoy it when you get around to it!

It was! It was actually easy for me to understand the motivations of most of the people (not the brutal actions though)… we all want to protect children, they were often not listened to in the past, when they were abused… and here we have a genuinely innocent man…

Good to have you back-ish? I have a feeling that you will be less present on your blog as you enjoy your new life more and more. No matter – good luck!

I’ll probably try to be around as much as I usually am nowadays but I definitely won’t do more, considering how limited I am in terms of available time for blogging hahah Thanks!

I laughed at your unchanged statistics for January. At least no downturns.

Congrats again for the new home, Lashaan! I’m sure you’ll soon find a great routine in your beautiful apartment! I’m very curious to know what you think of Dante’s Inferno, especially as I haven’t read it myself ahahah Also, I’m sure that with your Duolingo skills you are reading it in Italian 😛
Thanks also for sharing your top movie as I will now add it to my list! I hope the first week of February went well so far!

Ohhhhh hell no hahahahah It’s on my bucket list to read it in Italian in my life but it definitely won’t be now. Maybe in 10-20 years. If anything, I’m more likely to read the French version of it next. Hope your month of February has been fantastic so far! 😀

I think Casino Royale put Mikkelsen on everyone’s radar back in 2006. My favourite film with him remains “A Royal Affair”, I highly recommend it if you have not seen it already.

Yep. That was probably THE Hollywood role that put him on everyone’s radar. I haven’t seen A Royal Affair but will be sure to add it to my watchlist now. Thanks for the recommendation!
