What Makes 5 stars Book

Upon accepting to review your work, we pledge to never skip anything in the book. We will read from the cover page to the back cover (even the fine print!).

We also pledge to give the most honest review possible. Always reminding ourselves that we want the readers to know what they are embarking themselves into. Here’s our 5 star rating system. Check it out to know why we give a book a certain rating.        –Bookidote Oath

We started this blog as a couple but have not been together for many years now. You might find some very old posts with our pictures together but it’s all in the past now! 🙂

  1. Hi Lashaan, I’ve read all of your comics reviews and I’d love to start reading some. Can you please do a Guide post to where to start (like graphic novels, comics wise, explaining what is pull list, what is TPB?) Especially for Batman collection your reviews for those comics are amazing (sorry for my lack of commenting but I was too lazy >.<). Also, I'm more than confused by the DC comics universe. Thank you !! A desperate reader and follower

    1. Hey there, hopefully you receive notifications when I reply to your comments! I’ve heard this request quite often from some followers (especially the ones that don’t have a WordPress blog) and I’ve been always meaning to do a guide or a series to help out some buddies to better understand the universe. I plan on doing one that will answer some of the basic questions (including the ones you’ve mentioned) by the end of February. Hopefully it’ll turn out useful and invite more people to jump into the comic world ! 😀 Thanks for taking the time to write up your request. Really happy to hear you’ve read all my comic reviews too! ❤ See you around on my future comic reviews!

  2. Oh my god, you guys seem like such an adorable couple (gush, much?) Gaah and I absolutely love the format of how you did this presentation! Trang – it’s soo interesting that you are studying/interning in Psychology and following your other passion as a hobby. I’m currently taking my gap year (between high school and college) and I’m highly considering majoring in Psychology, though I don’t want to let my passion for books and blogging go away. It’s great to see that you manage both with such passion 🙂

    1. Unfortunately, you’ve stumbled across our blog right when our relationship was put to an end! :/ We are however staying friends and keeping this blog alive with our own individual love for books! Thank you so much for the kind words though and I appreciate the love! 😉

    1. I honestly thought it was one of the best book adaptations out there. Especially considering the writing that seemed impossible to reproduce as a movie. I’m glad to see you’ve discovered our blog! Looking forward to hear from you again. 😀

    1. I am quite glad to hear that! Feel free to check out my past reviews of DC Comics stories (well.. mostly Batman-related stories). I got my hands on the first part of The Button crossover event. I’m really excited for the rest of it (part 2 to 4) to come out. Thanks again for dropping by. Really appreciate it. 😉

      1. I have read all your DC Comics reviews. I am hoping for more DC comics reviews from you guys. I have read second issue also. now need to wait for one more week to get the 3rd issue. Every week they are building up for something big. Lets hope they don’t disappoint their fans.

        1. Wow. That is impressive and such an honor. Thanks a lot for your interest. Hard to come by DC Comics fans that are interested enough to check out reviews and what not!

Looking forward to seeing how things will turn out in The Button.

  4. “Smiles, yes, weird book things. I tend to paint my books – the covers. And I tend to make lots of my hardcovers into soft cover books. Yes, I have my reasons. But that’s the story. And sometimes, at a different place I do book stories, book reviews and have met a number of fabulous authors”. –
